John Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress is told using beautiful illustrations and a dramatic soundtrack. That may sound pretty boring (when this one was first suggested I was skeptical myself) but it really isn't - the illustrations are filmed in such a way as to give the impression of motion and the story is a good one, based on the second bestselling book of all time (the Bible is first). While you wouldn't want to watch this entire film in one sitting, it's broken into nine 15-minute sections and comes complete with a discussion guide making this a good film for teachers, parents or pastors who want to delve into Bunyan's classic. (It is far better than the other two version of Bunyan's tale told on film - an animated version, at only 35 minutes, condenses the book far too severely, and a live-action version is marred by an actor pretending to be Christ on the cross.)
