Instead of five sisters, the main characters are now five female friends living in the present day United States. The plot remains the same - these are women "in need of a husband" - but this time they have a self-help guide to aid them in their quest. If you loved the book you'll love this hilarious and "hip" retelling. If you haven't read the book, or are a guy who hates "chick flicks," then this movie is probably not for you. A couple subtle references to Mormonism are present (the director and at least some actors are Mormon) but nothing that promotes their religion.
