It's safe to say that this one will appeal to women more than men - one female friend watched it ten times in a row while her husband thought once was more than enough. Taking some liberties with the book, Little Women tells the tale of Marmee's four daughters (her four "little women") growing up in the shadow of the US Civil War. Each sister is as unique as a snowflake, but while differing in attitudes and interests each turns to their family for support and comfort. Some cautious viewers might be put off by a few strange references to Transcendentalism, a hard to define movement that included both Christians and early New Agers, but this movement is referred to only in passing.
